(LINCOLN, Neb.) On Wednesday, Nebraska announced federal state courts will follow updated mask guidelines using CDC transmission data, 10/11Now reported.

Nebraska courts will require masks based on the community level of transmission displayed on the CDC COVID Data Tracker beginning Aug. 4.

According to the policy order, the public will be required to wear masks inside public spaces of state courthouses during times of high community transmission regardless of vaccination status.

Under the new policy, unvaccinated persons will be required to wear masks in public spaces of federal courts even if community transmission is low.

Officials also clarified when those who have recently received their vaccine would be considered fully vaccinated.

"For purposes of this General Order, in accordance with CDC guidelines, a person is 'fully vaccinated' against COVID-19 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose p. 2 series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine," the policy order stated.

As of Wednesday, community transmission is high in Lancaster County according to the 7-day COVID-19 tracker for July 27 to Aug. 2.
