A shooting that took place at a water park in Tennessee has left one person dead and another wounded.
Angie Russell, 23, and Kelsy Cook, 24, were found suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Sevierville, police said. In Knoxville, Cook died as a result of her injuries at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. There is a high expectation that Russell will survive.
Two suspects were apprehended by police. In addition to being charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon while intoxicated, Sarah Romine, 31, is also being charged with second-degree murder. The charge against Joshua Dannels was possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
There is no indication from the police as to what might have caused the shooting, other than the fact that some kind of altercation appeared to have escalated.
