(THE BRONX, N.Y.) Police officers in the Bronx are in search of two men involved in a fatal stabbing on Friday, according to AM New York.

Police sources report 35-year-old Jesse Jackson, from Mount Vernon, was stabbed in the neck and back during an altercation with the two unidentified suspects outside a home on East 227th Street near Barnes Avenue in Edenwald at around 6:58 p.m.

Authorities said they are unsure about the motive behind the two men approaching Jackson outside the Bronx home.

The scuffle turned fatal after one of the suspects brandished a knife and pierced Jackson, police said. The two men fled from the scene in an unknown direction, per AMNY.

Police from the 47th Precinct responded to a 911 call and located an unconscious Jackson at the scene. He was transported to Montefiore Hospital by emergency medical services and was pronounced dead shortly after.

The New York City Police Department has made no arrests and the incident is still under investigation.
