Kalamazoo County officials have charged a Michigan man with murder after the death of his father.
Police found suspicious evidence at the scene as well as signs that violence had occurred inside the Portage home where Thomas Aye, 82, was found dead by his daughter. A Michigan Medical Examiner's autopsy results indicated that the death was a homicide.
Scott Sterffy, 56, has been charged with murder by the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor's Office after an extensive nationwide manhunt.
The manner of Aye's death and its motive have not been revealed. His arraignment is expected shortly.
Dr. Aye worked for 30 years as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Kalamazoo, serving as president of Kalamazoo Valley District Dental Society during that time.
He retired just a couple of years before his murdering son took his life.
