(DALLAS) A Dallas police officer has been placed on administrative leave after video footage caught him punching someone during an incident in Deep Ellum, The Dallas Morning News reports

Police officers had arrived near Elm Street and Malcolm X Boulevard at an unknown time to respond to a large group of men and women fighting. Officers were breaking up the fight and detaining people when another man started to approach. The man was told to stay away by an officer who then attacked him.

The officer, whose name was not disclosed, was seen on video shoving a man into a post, then straddling the man and punching him several times, including in the face. Other police officers had to pull away the officer who was punching the man. The man who was attacked was also detained.

Details about how the brawl started or if anyone was arrested was not released by the police department as of Wednesday.
