On Tuesday night, an auto-pedestrian crash claimed life of a person on Broadway and Sweetwater Road.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place just before 10:40 p.m. on Broadway, east of Sweetwater Road. Moreover, the incident occurred underneath the bridges that connect state Routes 125 and 94. The authorities described the incident as a hit-and-run crash, but the deputies discovered the involved vehicle by 11:30 p.m. As of the now, the events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time.
It is also unclear if the pedestrian was using a crosswalk or not at the time of the crash. It also remains unknown if the vehicle had fled, stopped just after the crash, or remained at the scene. The authorities will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
