33-year-old Alicia Stephenson, a resident of Portage, lost her life after she suffered critical injuries in a multi-vehicle wreck on Sunday near Lufkin.
According to the reports, Alicia Stephenson died of her injuries on Monday at a Houston hospital. Officials mentioned that Stephenson was driving a 2014 Dodge SUV on US 59 and was about 1.5 miles south of Lufkin when her vehicle was hit head-on by a 2017 Ford F-350, which had a blowout. A 13-year-old passenger in Stephenson’s vehicle succumbed to their injuries on Sunday, officers said. Six other people involved in the crash were injured.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
