Local coffee company Farley’s loses its SBA grant
Bay Area coffee company Farley’s, the employee-profit-sharing business with a popular shop in Uptown Oakland, was told in May that it had been awarded a $381,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration. According to Reuters, a successful lawsuit by former Trump staffers against prioritizing businesses owned by historically marginalized people means that the grant has been canceled, and Farley’s is unlikely to ever see those funds. The Trumpsters claim to be all about supporting businesses during this crisis in order to help the recovery. Of course, that’s a lie, too. Sure, they’ll support businesses, as long as the businesses are white businesses.

OAKLAND (CBS SF/AP) — California will require state employees and all health care workers to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or get tested weekly as officials aim to slow rising coronavirus infections, mostly among the unvaccinated.
