A fiery crash killed 1 person on Highway 225 near Beltway 8 in Pasadena (Pasadena, TX)

On Thursday morning, one person was killed in a fiery crash on Highway 225 near Beltway 8 in Pasadena.

Pasadena police were called to the crash scene at about 5:20 a.m. On arrival, officers found two cars engulfed in flames. Officials mentioned that a person was still in one of the cars and the vehicle may have stalled. According to the officers, the vehicle was in the center lane and had emergency lights on. The car seemed to have been hit from behind by a driver in a Jeep Wrangler, officers stated.

Police said that the driver of the Jeep Wrangler might not have seen the victim. He was provided aid at the scene and released, officers reported. The identity of the deceased will be revealed after notifying the next of kin. All main lanes of Highway 225 and Beltway 8 were shut down for repairs as the fire damaged some of the power lines.

The incident remains under review.
