On Friday, a bicyclist lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in North Clairemont, as per the San Diego Police Department.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at 5:31 p.m. at the intersection to Genesee Avenue and Chickasaw Court. Police stated that the bicyclist, an adult male, was rushed to the hospital but died of his injuries. The vehicle driver stayed at the scene after the accident. According to dispatchers, a portion of Genesee Avenue was shut down for traffic as police investigated the incident. Authorities will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
