(OCEAN CITY, N.J.) Officials announced a small plane made an emergency landing near Ocean City on Monday, according to PIX 11.
The pilot was riding by himself on the single-engine Piper J3C-65 Cub when it came down on the Route 52 bridge just before 1 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA and the National Safety Transportation Board both launched an investigation into the emergency landing.
A local near the scene posted video footage to Twitter after the plane was grounded on the roadway.
The plane was being operated by a teenage pilot for Paramount Air Service. It was able to land without any damages or injuries to anyone, according to an Ocean City spokesman.
The pilot claimed he had engine trouble near Steel Pier in Atlantic City, per officials.
βHe released his banner into the ocean and was attempting to reach Ocean City Municipal Airport when he spotted a gap in traffic in the westbound lanes of the causeway,β an Ocean City spokesman said.
