(DETROIT) Early Friday morning, police discovered two men, ages 28 and 31, shot to death and a third man, a 26-year-old, shot in the leg and abdomen at a home on Detroit's west side, Fox 2 Detroit reports.

After responding to the home, located on 15000 block of Washburn near Chalfonte Street, police discovered the 26-year-old and described his status as "fighting for his life."

Detroit Police Department Capt. Michael Chambers described the scene.

"When we arrived, like I said the male was in the street and then once EMS conveyed him a short time later, there was another male that exited the house and said there were others that were shot inside," Chambers said.

Chambers also talked about DPD's challenges in figuring out what exactly happened.

"We're trying to still gather the particulars as to what actually happened in the house," he said. "The male that gave us the statement said he was in another part of the house so we're still trying to piece things together to find out what went on."

According to police sources, one of the possible motives for the shooting may have been a drug deal that went bad.

Police have been investigating the scene since about 3 a.m. Friday.

The 26-year-old is currently in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made.
