2 cell phone stores targeted for robberies in Corona, NYPD seeking 3 women

(QUEENS, N.Y.) Police said a store employee tried to salvage some items that that three women stole from a phone store in Queens on Monday, according to PIX 11.

The suspects face accusations of attempting to steal from two mobile stores, just one block apart from each other, in the Corona section of the borough.

A Boost Mobile store located near 39th Avenue and 104th Street was targeted first at around 5:15 p.m.

The women were inquiring about an iPhone SE, which was valued at $500, police said.

As the 18-year-old employee held onto the phone, one of the suspects stole it from her hand as the trio exited from the store on foot.

After 10 minutes, the suspects went to the Fast Wireless store down the street from the Boost Mobile store and began to gather items from the store, police said.

The 36-year-old employee hopped over the counter to stop the theft, grabbing one of the suspects, as seen in the video above.

After a short dispute, the suspects took off with $40 and a pair of headphones worth $21, according to the NYPD.
