Multiple injured in shooting in West, East Oakland

(OAKLAND, Calif.) Police responded to multiple shootings Tuesday across Oakland that left three men injured, East Bay Times reports.

The shootings happened during separate incidents including two shootings in neighborhoods in both East and West Oakland, as well as one shooting that transpired during a robbery, according to authorities.

A 70-year-old man was confronted by two suspects in the 900 block of Brockhurst Street at approximately 10:56 a.m. in West Oakland. One of the suspects was brandishing a gun and shot the man in the leg after robbing him of a small amount of cash.

The suspects then fled from the scene separately – one in a car, the other on a bike. The victim’s condition has been listed as stable.

The second shooting took place at approximately 12:55 p.m. in the 1000 block of 66th Avenue in the Coliseum-Industrial area when an 18-year-old man was shot several times.

He then went to the firehouse Engine 29 on 66th Avenue for help. The man received treatment from firefighters at the station before being transported to a nearby hospital.

His condition has been listed as stable.

Investigators recovered several shell casings on the street. A motive for the shooting is unknown and no suspects have been arrested.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1700 block of Seminary Avenue at approximately 5:15 p.m. where the responding officers learned that a man had been shot in the arm and was taken to the hospital.

His condition is currently unknown.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspects involved in each of the separate shootings.
