(OAKLAND, Calif.) The Oakland Police Department has released surveillance footage of the suspects who attempted to rob a camera crew during an interview with Oakland’s violence prevention officer last month, East Bay Times reports.

The suspects are described as Black and either in their 20s or late teens. Both suspects are roughly six feet tall with one suspect wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The other suspect was described as wearing dark clothing.

Both concealed their faces with pandemic masks and brandished pistols during the attempted robbery.

The attempted robbery happened near City Hall in the 100 block of 14th Street during an interview with Guillermo Cespedes, Oakland’s violence prevention chief.

However, the robbery was foiled by an armed guard working for the camera crew after a scuffle after the suspects demand that members of the camera crew hand over the camera at gunpoint.

The suspects then fled from the scene on foot on eastbound Clay Street.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for any additional information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Information can be submitted by contacting the Oakland Police Department at 510-238-3326 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
