(QUEENS, N.Y.) Firefighters were called to Astoria early Friday after a construction crane collapsed onto a building, according to PIX11.
Firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving calls about the crane leaning against the building at 35-01 36th Ave. between 35th and 36th streets.
The crane was loading steel beams into place for a new apartment building when the crane gave way under the load and crashed into the building.
"When we got here, fortunately, the crane operator was out of the truck," a fire official on the scene said, according to FOX5. "We got a report that there were only two workers inside the building under construction. They were also removed."
Authorities said nobody was injured in the incident.
"I saw the truck about 20 feet up in the air. The crane had fallen back almost half the block into the construction pit," witness Melissa Trott told the New York Daily News. "I heard an enormous boom and as soon as I walked up to the corner I saw a bunch of construction workers staring in complete silence."
