(LONG ISLAND, N.Y.) As the nation readies to celebrate its 245th birthday, towns, counties and businesses across Long Island have arranged for all kinds of celebratory events, including parades and fireworks.
With assistance from Patch and Long Island Press, here's a small sampling of plans across the island to observe the national holiday:
- Seaford Independence Day Parade: 8:30-10:30 a.m. July 3.
- 16th Annual Drum and Bass BBQ – Independence Day Weekend: Cedar Creek Park, Wantagh. Noon to 9 p.m. July 3.
- Long Island Ducks Fireworks Spectacular: Bethpage Ballpark, Central Islip. End of games on July 3, 4.
- Glen Cove’s Annual 4th of July Bicycle Parade and Fireworks: Children’s Bicycle Parade at Finley Middle School, Glen Cove, 10-11 a.m. July 4. Fireworks at Morgan Memorial Park, Glen Cove, 9 p.m. July 4.
- Independence Day Celebration: Armor Parade and 1860s Celebration: Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Old Bethpage, 10 a.m. July 4.
- Amityville Fourth of July Parade and BBQ: Amityville, Bourdette Place and Ocean Ave Avenue, 11 a.m., July 4. The BBQ will take place at the firehouse after the parade.
- Jones Beach 2021 July 4th Fireworks Spectacular: Ocean Parkway, Wantagh, 9:30 p.m. July 4.
- The Waterview 4th of July Celebration: The Waterview, Port Jefferson, 7-9 p.m. July 4.
- 5th Annual 4th of July Paddle on the Carmans River: Carmans River Canoe & Kayak, Brookhaven, 8-10 p.m. July 4.
- Asharoken Fireworks by Grucci: Asharoken, 9:15 p.m., July 4.
- Greenport Fire Department Carnival and Fireworks: Greenport, Carnival at 6 p.m. July 4. Fireworks at 10 p.m. July 4.
