What is your mission for today?

On a Saturday we were driving around looking for a place to eat.

We saw something interesting and wanted to get a closer look. We pulled in the lot and there was an Army truck with a large sign on it.

We were so happy we picked that place.

You will be guaranteed a unique experience at MISSION BBQ, I promise you that!

Before you enter the restaurant you notice a large Army truck sitting to the side. It’s covered in camouflage with a huge “MISSION” sign painted on it. “This is different,” you think. “What in the world is this about?” You open the door and go inside and smell the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen. They seat you at once and it feels comforting for some reason to be in this establishment. Then you look around and see some interesting things on the walls.

There are all sorts of plaques, patches, and photographs of many police, fireman, and military heroes from many historical events. You read the patches and realize they belong to policemen, firemen, military personnel from all over the country.

You sit more erect and more proud that you have found this place.

MISSION BBQ opened its doors for business on September 11, 2011. It opened ten years after “our world changed forever and in some small way we wanted to change it back”, says owners Bill and Newt.

You might think that you have already tasted the best barbecue in town, but I don’t think so! You may feel that there’s nothing better than “whatever your old favorite place is.”

Yes, a barbecue restaurant, but then you notice it caters to “First Responders” such as military personnel, police officers, firefighters, emergency paramedics, nurses, doctors, and even football stars! Although they are not first responders, they could be considered heroes to some.

On the front wall a huge plaque says:

“If you knew you could not play tomorrow, how hard would you play today?”

Then, you notice a lot of police personnel around and military families. It’s a mixture of everyday patriots like you and me and the heroes that respond, sworn to protect and serve when disaster strikes.

The atmosphere is light, friendly, down-to-earth, and respectful. At noon every day, they salute Old Glory with “God Bless America”. Now, how cool is that?

The menu includes pulled chicken, beef, pork, ribs, brisket. Each table has six, count ’em, six kinds of sauce for you to add to your choice. Hmmmmmmmmm! All served on a huge tray with no dishes! Everything is picnic-style and easy to deal with. Oh, let’s not forget the sides: mac and cheese, stew, french fries, coleslaw, cornbread, and peach cobbler. My mouth is watering thinking about it.

Some folks have said:

“Mission BBQ totally rocks! All Mission BBQ places are the best! Meats and vegetables always taste fresh and delicious. They have a good variety of soft drinks and lemon tea. From the cashier to the table servers, to the cooks, to the management, they all have a great attitude, like they really enjoy working and being there to serve the customer.

Best of all, they are 100% supportive of the military, veterans, and law enforcement! Mission BBQ is definitely Mission Complete when it comes to food!” W.W., Baltimore, MD

“My family member recommended this place after traveling from NYC. I must say the moment we walked in the aroma from the food was so inviting. The restaurant was clean. The workers were so pleasant. That’s really what sold me. The people were so nice. They greeted us and even said bye when we left. This is something big to me because as you know already New Yorkers are not the most pleasant especially at a busy fast-food chain. Our cashier Tatiyana was so patient with us as it was our first time at their restaurant so we had a few questions about the menu and she pleasantly answered our questions. The food was so good I might add.” Katide B., Brooklyn, NY-

So all you have to do is go to https://mission-bbq.com/, put in your zip code and the site will tell you the nearest location. Then you go and enjoy!

“When was the last time you enjoyed going to work? I feel that way every day.”

Tony Sorrells

“We’re not just selling BBQ here. We’re changing lives, one uniformed hero at a time.”

Misty Waters

“I served 2 tours in Iraq. Now I’m serving my peers and a public that values what’s right in America.”
James Bloomer, Navy Reserve HM2(IDW)

They give back by helping out the USO, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Semper Fi Fund, Navy Seal Foundation, Wreaths Across America, and more.

If this kind of patriotism sounds good to you, GO!

If you are frugal like me you will really like the prices! Go and see for yourself. Having seventeen locations in Florida, they must be doing something right. I promise you will love it and not be able to get enough of it. https://mission-bbq.com/
