(QUEENS, N.Y.) A doorman was assaulted inside a Queens apartment building after he asked another man to leave the premises on Saturday, according to PIX 11.

Police released footage of the incident, which took place at around 9:18 p.m. near the corner of 68th Drive and Queens Boulevard in the Forest Hills section of the borough, according to the New York City Police Department.

The doorman, 69, was in the building's basement when he approached a non-resident and asked him to leave, officials said.

The suspect entered the elevator behind the doorman and then struck him in the face once they reached the first floor.

The elderly doorman was grounded after the sucker punch as the suspect fled from the building, according to the NYPD.

The doorman underwent pain and bruises to the face. He turned down medical attention at the scene, but was later treated at a local hospital due to a facial fracture, officials said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or by messaging on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls are kept confidential.
