(NEWARK, N.J.) Newark Police were able to locate a child safely after the child was kidnapped during a carjacking on Monday, according to ABC 7.
The incident took place shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the 100 block of 16th Avenue in Newark.
The car thief managed to steal the running vehicle with a 6-month-old child onboard.
After five minutes, the child was found safe outside a Home Depot store on Springfield Avenue, per ABC 7.
Police are still searching for the car and carjacker.
The investigation remains active and no further details were made public.
