A teenager passed away on Wednesday night during a shooting incident. It all happened outside Hurricane Harbor, in Arlington, as Fox News reports.

What are the details?

The tragic incident took place right when the park was closing. It was about 7 p.m.

The authorities have revealed that a 16-year-old teenager was shot while he was standing outside the water park’s front entrance. The boy was taken to hospital immediately for treatment. Unfortunately, he passed away later.

At the time when the shooting happened an off-duty officer who was still wearing his uniform was working as a security agent at the park. He stated for the news station that he heard sounds indicating a fight was taking place in the parking lot.

The officer did not witness the shooting itself, but he heard the sound and then he spotted the boy on the ground.

“At that point he saw some vehicles trying to get away. But other officers were arriving quickly, and we were able to get at least one car stopped. The occupants in that car are the ones we have detained. Again at this point they claim no involvement, but we have certain tests we can do to determine if they fired a gun,” Lt. Chris Cook, from Arlington police department, said.

By Thursday morning no suspect had been taken into custody or charged for the tragic shooting in Arlington.

Evidence has been gathered in the meantime and the water park is scheduled to reopen at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
