Bronx man in custody after allegedly shooting and killing neighbor outside their apartment building

(THE BRONX, N.Y.) The New York City Police Department arrested a man in the Bronx on Wednesday after he allegedly shot and killed a neighbor during a dispute outside their apartment building, according to AM New York.

Timmy Johnson, 30, faces accusations of shooting another 30-year-old outside an apartment building on Fulton Avenue near East 172nd Street at about 8:15 p.m.

The victim's identity has not been released, pending family notification, police said. Johnson and the victim both resided at the Fulton Avenue apartment building, per AMNY. Sources said the shooting took place after the two men were involved in an argument. No further details were released.

Police from the 42nd Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault. Responding officers located the victim with at least one gunshot wound to the body.

Emergency medical services transported him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police sources, Johnson was apprehended not long after the shooting took place near the crime scene. Police were able to recover the alleged firearm used in the killing.

Johnson faces multiple charges including murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
