(ELMONT, N.Y.) The New York Islanders announced Monday that they had sold out general admission season tickets at UBS Arena for its upcoming inaugural season as the Islanders' home arena.

The sale of the more than 12,000 season tickets for the 2021-22 season comes while the Islanders continue their run in the semifinals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They lost 8-0 Monday night to the Tampa Bay Lightning in Florida, leaving them behind one game in the 3-2 series.

"Selling out season tickets is a true testament to this loyal fanbase," Tim Leiweke, CEO of Oak View Group, a developer of the arena, said. "This arena will bring the very best in both hockey and entertainment to fans across the region and we're excited to open up the doors to the public this fall."

Mike Cosentino, a senior vice president for the Islanders, said, "We are so proud to have the support of these Islanders fans. They've responded in such overwhelming fashion."

The Islanders return home to the Nassau Coliseum on Wednesday for Game 6 against the Lightning.
