ST.LOUIS, MO — The end of June is approaching, and you might be looking for some ideas to spend the weekend around the City of St. Louis.

Under the city’s sun and the excitement of summer, here are five things to do this weekend:

1. Family Fun Friday Nights

St. Louis Zoo invites all family to Family Fun Friday Nights every Friday from May 14 through August 13. The community event adds entertainment as you stroll down the zoo.

You may find magicians, jugglers, saxophone or guitar players, or even DJ playing around the zoo. Admission is free, but regular admission fees apply to Conservation Carousel 4D Theater Dinoroarus Stingrays at Caribbean Cove Zooline Railroad.

2. The Macklind Mile

The Macklind Mile is a popular downhill one-mile run/walk. You can race to compete or move to complete—whatever suits your pace.

The short-mile course is a laid-back track for those who want to hang out in the streets of South City St. Louis. Admission is on a charge, and participants can register at the Macklind Mile website.

3. Landmarks St. Louis Walking Tours

This walking tour will take you to the famous landmarks of St. Louis to see the history, culture, and architectural legacy of the city while exercising on Saturday morning.

The landmarks include the Old Courthouse, Old Cathedral, Gateway Arch, Union Station, and the Central Library.

The regular schedules are on Saturdays at 10 AM from June 19 to October 31. Tours are limited to 10 people and last about two and a half hours, covering about two miles through the landmarks. The tour costs $10 per person and free for children under 12 years old.

4. Arch View Lunch Cruise

It’s always a good time to see the iconic St. Louis Arch. The cruise will take you down the Mississippi River to see the scene of downtown St. Louis.

Enjoy a three-course lunch with live music in the background while listening to the informative narration of the area’s history.

The cruise sails every Saturday from 11.30 AM to 1.30 PM, and tickets cost $39 per adult, $15 per child aged three – 12, and free for children aged under three.

5. Soldiers Memorial Outdoor Tours

Learn the history of the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum and the Court of Honor and understand their role in the architectural development of downtown St. Louis.

See beyond the display of the Soldiers Memorial’s massive Walker Hancock sculptures, spectacular Gold Star Mothers mosaic, and many other architectural tributes to those who served our country.

The tour is $5, and the guide will wait for you outside near the main entrance.
