The Austin Police Department has released the name of the motorcyclist as 35-year-old Joseph Cable Barnes who lost his life in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Capital of Texas Highway and Westbank Drive.
Officials reported that Joseph Cable Barnes was killed in crash on June 12 when he ran a red light and crashed into a 2015 silver Toyota Avalon. On arrival, officers declared Barnes deceased. Emergency crews transported the driver of the Toyota to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. It is unclear if speed or alcohol played a part in the crash.
The authorities will continue to investigate the fatal crash.
