On Monday afternoon, one person lost their life in a two-vehicle collision on the Eastex Freeway at Hopper Road.
According to officials, it seems that a Toyota SUV crashed into a pickup from behind and then slammed into the center wall. A witness at the scene pulled the driver out of the vehicle and performed CPR, but the driver died at the scene. Authorities closed the highway for some time for investigation process, but it was reopened by 2 p.m. The identity of the deceased has not been revealed at this time.
The authorities will continue to investigate the fatal crash.
