A DUI accident killed 17-year-old Valerie Castellanos and 17-year-old Jade Torres on Dillon Road (Riverside County, CA)

On Sunday morning, Valerie Castellanos and Jade Torres, both 17, lost their lives after a DUI accident on Dillon Road.

As per the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident took place on Dillon and Berdoo Canyon roads at 5:17 a.m. As per reports, a 2012 Nissan Altima drove eastbound down Dillon Road at 90 MPH when the inebriated teenage driver went off the road and collided with a tree.

The impact of the crash threw one passenger off the vehicle, and the other passenger suffered chest trauma, both proving deadly. Reports showed that responders freed the DUI driver pinned inside the vehicle. Riverside County Fire Department rushed the victim to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The driver, also 17, may be under arrest after receiving treatment from her crash injuries.

Officials confirmed that the two passengers in the car succumbed to their injuries in the Dillon Road accident. Soon after, the Riverside County coroner named the teenagers as Valerie Castellanos and Jade Torres. Both victims were residents of Indio.

An investigation is continuing.
