Peoria is a beautiful city in Maricopa and Yavapai counties in the state of Arizona. It is one of the major suburbs of Phoenix and is located just 13 miles from Phoenix in the southeast direction. Peoria is famous for Lake Pleasant Regional Park. This 23000-acre park is known for its marinas and is quite popular for boating, fishing, water skiing, kayaking, camping, and also scuba diving. Peoria is also home to some great restaurants. Here are some of my favorite restaurants in Peoria.
1. Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que Peoria
Located at 16148 North 83rd Avenue, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is a barbecue chain that serves wood-smoked meats and sides in an American-West themed space. It is located right by the Peoria sports complex.
Try their award-winning ribs that are hand-rubbed with Dave's secret blend of spices and pit-smoked for 3 - 4 hours over a smoldering hickory fire. They are juicy and tender. They come with a choice of two sides and a cornbread muffin. For dessert, try their bread pudding. It will melt in your mouth and is made from scratch in the house.
2. V's Taproom
Located in Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia at 12575 W Golf Club Dr, V’s Taproom is a perfect place to enjoy your food at the patio overlooking the lush golf course. They have a rotating selection of craft beers and made-to-order cocktails to enjoy.
Even though they are famous for their delicious burgers, I enjoy their pasta dishes. They have a variety of pizzas on their menu but my personal favorite is their signature item spicy Italian which is Italian sausage, prosciutto, salami, capicola, and pepperoni.
Leave some room for dessert as you don’t want to miss their mouth-watering butter cake. The cake contains bourbon custard, berry coulis, and vanilla ice cream.
3. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
For an excellent culinary experience, visit this high-end steakhouse located at 9712 W Northern Ave inside Park West. This place is perfect to enjoy an exceptional Prime steak, cocktail, or a glass of wine and is a lovely place for a fine dining experience. It is perfect for a romantic evening with your partner.
The staff is helpful, attentive, and friendly. They also have an innovative plant-based menu if you are vegan/vegetarian. They have the best steaks in the valley and I have enjoyed their Prime New York strip. I have also enjoyed chickpea & eggplant croquette that is a great option for vegans.
For dessert, try the chocolate lava cake that has a molten center of Callebaut Belgian chocolate. It takes some time to prepare so it is recommended that you order your dessert sooner than later.
4. Texas Roadhouse
Located at 16079 N Arrowhead Fountains Ctr Dr, Texas Roadhouse serves great steaks in its Texas-themed décor. They are famous for their Hand-Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, Made-From-Scratch Sides, and Fresh-Baked Bread.
Try their New York strip which is a lean, juicy steak with extra tenderness and it comes with a choice of two sides. For dessert, go for their Chocolate brownie that is topped with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate sauce.
5. Haymaker
Located in Lake Pleasant Pavilion at 24762 N Lake Pleasant Pkwy, Haymaker offers its customers American comfort food, sandwiches, and brunch options. This eatery serves breakfast all days and seven days a week. They also take care of any type of dietary restrictions.
I have enjoyed their Kinda Famous Texan burger which is hickory smoked bacon, bourbon bbq sauce, cheddar, crispy haystack onions. Their ribs are also delicious with the right amount of tenderness and juicy taste. For dessert, try their famous Mama’s bread pudding - one of the best pudding in the town.
