Venice is one of those places you go to that has a good food spot or a good bar on every corner.

That being said, here are a few favorites:

Venice Beach Wines:

This is one of the best spots to go to to meet up for drinks. It's a mostly covered patio on Rose and you can share some solid small plates, hear each other talk, and try various wines

High Rooftop Bar at Hotel Erwin:

There should be more rooftop bars on the Westside. However, this one is fantastic. I wouldn't come here for dinner but it's the perfect spot to see the sunset.

Hinano Cafe:
An old-school Venice dive bar that has good beer, vintage posters, a pool table, and a relaxed crowd of people who probably surf every day. You won't find any fancy cocktails here but it's the perfect place for when you don’t want to put in any effort before you start drinking.
Neighbor:
While technically a restaurant, this bar offers incredible bites and cocktails. The space looks like a room from Anthropologie.
The Brig:
This is the perfect place to get some shots in.
The Lincoln:
You should make a plan to come here because The Lincoln is one of the coolest bars in Venice. It does get pretty packed so come early to snag a table.
Venice Whaler Bar & Grill:
Come here during happy hour for some amazing post-beach drinks.
James' Beach:
Also known as that bar from I Love You, Man, James’ Beach serves amazing fish tacos and is usually filled with a crowd of locals doing everything from a casual date night to going all out on margaritas.
Old Lightning:
You have to give up your phone to get into this speakeasy behind Scopa but it's well worth it. Old Lightning is inexplicably tiki-themed and manned by helpful bartenders who really seem to love what they do. It's hard to get in, but once you’re in, you feel like you’re part of a club and you'll want to come back every weekend.
