CLEVELAND, OH — This week, several events are being held in Ohio, and here are some of the weekly roundup that you cannot miss:
- Special Olympics Ohio will host a State Summer Games this year, and the Bowling Tournament needs volunteers as soon as possible. The tournament is back on June 26 from 09.30 a.m. – 3.00 p.m. at the HP Lanes off of Innis Ave, north Columbus.
Anyone who wants to attend or volunteer can sign up with Megan Modene at mmodene@sooh.org.
- Sara Pierce is chosen as the 2021-2022 American Veterans Department of Ohio Commander, elected at the 75th American Veterans Dept. of Ohio. Others who are in charge are:
1st Vice Commander: Doug Bowen
2nd Vice Commander: Jeff Brown
3rd Vice Commander: Pat Rowley
Provost Marshal: Chris Couchot
- Veterans’ Revalidation will be due by July 15, which is required per the CBL. You can turn in a copy of the front page of your filed IRS Form 990 along with Revalidation. - Military and Service Heroes (MASH.) Pantry and Resource Center needs volunteers to provide food security among veteran populations. They are establishing community gardens in nine locations throughout central Ohio which will supply fresh food for veterans in Franklin, Delaware, Pickaway, Marion, and Ross counties. - June 27 is PTSD Awareness Day. Commemorate it through Stronger Together 5K Race & Veteran Resource Event. Registration opens 08.00 a.m. – 11.00 a.m., event starts at 11.00 a.m. – 02.00 p.m. Registration fee is $25 per person at https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Whitehouse/tf20vets.
