(THE BRONX, N.Y.) A vigil will take place Monday to honor the late 15-year-old Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz who was killed three years ago by a gang outside a Bronx bodega, according to ABC 7 NY.

The vigil will take place at 6 p.m. outside the deli where Guzman-Feliz was fatally attacked.

The teen was wrongfully targeted as a rival gang member on June 20, 2018, by the 14 men who attacked him — all believed to be part of the Trinitarios gang, per ABC 7.

Junior's murder was acknowledged across the globe after the hashtag #justiceforjunior grew in popularity on social media as many sought justice for the boy.

While justice was served through some arrests, New York City Police Department Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said two years ago, "I don't think the family will ever recover in a case like this. It never ends for victims."

According to ABC 7, five gang members have been convicted for Junior's death so far. One man received a life sentence without parole, while the other four are to serve 20+ years to life.

Leandra Feliz, Junior's mother, has become a public advocate for justice as she called for a bill that asks for panic buttons to be installed across the city's bodegas.

"My son has already passed," she said last year of what she hoped would be called Junior's Law. "They killed my son. We have to protect our future kids and our community."
