HOUSTON, TX - Space Center Houston has introduced new amenities to its Food Lab Market and Eatery, including a coffee bar, a market and a food truck.

In Grounds Control, a selection of espresso drinks and on-tap offerings from local and regional roasters is ready to welcome visitors. This fully remodelled modern coffee bar also offers a selection of all-day pastries and pressed sandwiches.

In the Local Grind food truck, visitors can enjoy a rotating selection of meals, including burgers, sides, and beverages with a taste of classic flavors combined with tasteful side dishes. The Local Grind food truck is available on The Food Lab patio.

There’s also an upcoming Tex-Mex section, which will allow visitors to design their own burritos. The section also offers tortilla-less bowls on the menu.

Visitors can also have a picnic at the Independence Cue located in Independence Plaza, which serves Texas BBQ sandwiches, housemade sides, and beverages.

Besides providing good food, the Food Lab aims to educate customers about NASA’s efforts to provide healthy meals to astronauts and how it teaches them to live and work on both the moon and on Mars.

“Together, we aim to enhance the guest experience with unique culinary offerings to drive curiosity through educating people how food and nutrition fuel space exploration,” said Mary Baerg, chief operating officer, Space Center Houston. “It’s our commitment to continue to innovate and provide meaningful connections to space exploration for people of all ages.”

Previously named Zero-G, The Food Lab is set for a relaunch in late 2021. The center plans to introduce additional amenities in the future.
