For the 204th year, the two-day-long festival in Lititz, PA is back! The town is known for its lively vibe with several festivals and events throughout the year, but last year many of them had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The July 4th celebration in Lititz Springs Park is among the oldest continuous Fourth of July celebrations in the country, and usually, the festival brings up to 20,000 people to Lititz. It is a main event in this PA town, and the festival is just a few days away.

Community celebration in the park

The 2021 Fourth of July Committee in Lititz, PA is excited to bring the community back together this summer. The festival will be held on Friday, July 2nd, and Saturday, July 3rd in Lititz Springs Park. Friday night is free to access and no tickets are needed. There will be music, Lititz Patriotic Parade, the Queen of Candles ceremony, and more.

Tickets for July 3rd must be purchased in advance, and will not be sold by the entrance. All kids under 3 can access the park for free, and every guest over the age of 3 must wear a wristband, which can be mailed or picked up at the Welcome Center in advance. The capacity cut-off number for the event held on July 3rd is 12,000.

Fireworks, parades, and contests

At the celebration, there will be a kid zone with entertainment and games for the little ones. Your kids will not be bored here! Several food trucks will be serving up the best of local foods.

For families, there is even a Baby Parade with prizes. Dress up your family for July 4th and join the parade and celebrate the fact that you can even come together for a celebration. After over a year with the Covid-19 pandemic, the simple fact of gathering is not something that should be taken for granted.

The festival is also known for its popular House Decorating Contest. There are fewer participants this year, but you can vote for your favorite at the committee's website. The winner will be announced during the festival.

A highlight of the day is the Pyromusical fireworks spectacular, starting at 9:45 pm on July 3rd. There will be two viewing areas for the fireworks this year. Bring your blankets and chairs, and watch the fireworks from the side of the park, on the Lititz Rec center side of the firing area. There will also be a dance party before the fireworks go off.

Throughout the day there will be several concerts featuring local musicians and bands, one of them being New Holland Community Band.

Volunteer openings

The committee has a few openings for volunteers. Volunteers get perks such as a free ticket and they also gain priority entrance for the Blanket Run from 7-8 am on July 3rd.

Entrance gates open on July 3rd will be located at Broad Street, Wentworth Lane (Handicap Gate), Boy Scout Pavilion, and the Rec Center.

One thing that has not changed during the pandemic is the spirit of this town and its special traditions. This festival has for over 200 years been all about celebrating the nation's freedom and independence as a community in Lititz.

Lititz Springs Park is a private park, owned by the Lititz Moravian Congregation and maintained by the Churches of Lititz, for public use. The Park does not receive public funding. Proceeds after expenses go toward the upkeep and maintenance of the Lititz Springs Park as well as the Lititz Memorial Square. If inclement weather, the rain date for the festival is Monday, July 5th.
