On June 17, în Thornton, New Hampshire, a bear was caught by a surveillance camera breaking into a car.
The video from the security camera footage shows the bear opening the door of the car and even going inside of it.
The car was parked in a driveway.
Unfortunately, the bear left some marks behind and caused damage to some of the cars.
The Thornton New Hampshire Police Department made a statement about noticing that in the last few weeks a bear was wandering around the Mad River, Upper Mad River Road area searching for food in cars and trash, causing considerable damage.
”Over the last few weeks we have taken reports of a bear on the Mad River, Upper Mad River Road area getting into vehicles to get food or trash left inside and causing considerable damage. Just last week, the bear was captured on a home security camera opening a vehicle and going inside. The most recent report was at a residence this morning on Mad River RD. Please remember to remove food items from your vehicles and do not leave your trash bags outside or in your trunks or truck beds. Fish and Game has been made aware. If you do find that a bear has damaged your property, you can call the USDA Wildlife Services at 603-223-6832.” - Thornton New Hampshire Police Department
Authorities think that it could be the same bear that could responsible for other car break-ins and damages.
Bear get close to people and civilization when they are hungry and can't find food in the wild.
