There is nothing better than some great ice cream on a warm summer's day. And there are some fantastic places to enjoy ice cream here in Traverse City. So here's the best of the best. While Culver's is great, you can get Culver's in many places. Let's talk about some local delights you can only find here in the cherry capital of the world.

Bardon's Wonder Freeze

Blink twice and you might miss this location in the morning. But once it is open, you'll be able to spot the line of customers waiting for their Bardon's Wonder Freeze treats. The focus is primarily on soft serve ice cream such as sundaes and cones. Bardon's is a bit old school, so there is no website or anything. You just visit the location at 1100 E. Front St.

When we are in the area we always make a stop at Bardon's Wonder Freeze. Went there as a kid and it's fun to see it still there after all these years. The sundae's are great and it's fun to be part of TC history! Catherinetp

Milk and Honey

Located downtown right on Front Street, Milk and Honey features From yummy ice cream sure to please the entire family. Milk and Honey's orange creamsicle cake was actually the grand prize winner in 2014 Traverse City Ice Cream Walk. Milk and Honey has all natural ice cream that is farmed locally, made in house, and mixed on a frozen stone. If you've never had Milk and Honey, you're in for a serious treat!

We were visiting downtown Traverse City on a nice warm day and somehow I was magically dragged into Milk & Honey by some unseen force. After walking 4 miles this morning just to burn a measly 500 calories, I promised myself I wouldn’t have any desert. But nope, once I saw all the ice cream choices at Milk & Honey all bets were off. So I walked in and selected the Sleeping Bear Sundae, medium of course on a waffle cone. Tim Dore

Moomers

This is as local as it gets. When you have Moomers, you can eat it right by the cows that helped create the ice cream on the farm. There are several other locations all over town too, but I must say visiting the creamery is by far the most unique experience. (It is located at a 7263 N. Long Lake Rd.) Moomers makes more than 160 flavors of premium ice cream including favorites such as peanut butter Oreo, apple crisp, brownie batter, and much, much more.

Always great ice cream at an out of the way spot. Worth the drive, you'll see once there everyone else thought it was worth it too. Average scoops, over average taste. Can't wait to visit again. Debaw16

So there you have it. Three amazing locations right here in Traverse City to get some fantastic ice cream. Have you had all three? Let me know in the comments!
