President Joe Biden is being urged by 2 dozen GOP lawmakers to replace Vice President Kamala Harris at the southern border as the leading authority in controlling illegal immigration.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics released recently show 180,034 people crossed the border in May 2021, compared to 23,237 in May 2020 -- a 675 percent increase, they pointed out to President Joe Biden.
The Vice President hasn't visited the border and met with Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials, and local law enforcement officers yet in the 85 days since she got the job.
All of us have made mistakes in hiring, as the letter concedes. In some cases, a task must be delegated to another person. In a sincere plea to President Biden, they asked him to appoint someone else to deal with the border crisis.
