(THE BRONX, N.Y.) Former New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia attended a field renaming ceremony in the Bronx on Saturday after he helped dedicate the field in honor of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz — a teen who was violently killed outside a bodega three years ago, according to News 12.

Sabathia was joined by his wife Amber and Leandra Feliz — Junior's mother — as they visited the newly revamped Quarry Ballfield in the Tremont section of the borough.

The 15-year-old teen was slain on June 20, 2018 — a killing that drew national attention after video of the incident went viral.

According to News 12, this is the second Bronx ballpark that the Sabathias have modernized through the "PitCCh In Foundation."

“It’s important for my wife and I to donate this park to him,” Sabathia said. “He played little league here, this was his community, so it felt right.”

The Sabathias founded the PitCCh In Foundation in 2008 to assist inner-city children with their baseball skills.
