Feeding the animals is a big part of the fun at Timbavati Wildlife Park. Food for the animals is an additional charge and you’ll want to allow room in your budget for this attraction to purchase a couple packs of food to feed the different animals along the way.

Purchase an animal lunch box when you purchase your park admission tickets and if you need more food, look for little stands along the way. Be sure to stop and feed the parakeets, it’s lots of fun! Seed sticks are available for purchase.

What animals will you find inside Timbavati Wildlife Park? Just inside the front gate and past the ticket booth is the Waterfalls Area. This area is home to a lot of fowl. From lesser flamingos to peach faced lovebirds this park has lots of feathered friends.

Just outside of the Waterfalls Area and near the Safari Snack Shack, you’ll find spider monkeys, lions, and other big felines in the Large Cat Encounter. Just past the Safari Snack Shack there is a mini amphitheater where wildlife presentations are held. Nearby are also fun pygmy goats and nurseries with some of the park’s newest residents.

For those who would like to cruise part of the park in style, tickets for the Safari Train Ride are available to purchase for an additional charge. The train takes you through exclusive pastures where you can see ostrich, aoudad, antelope and other animals with names that start with vowels. The train also traverses the Grasslands Area of Timbavati Wildlife Park where you’ll find more animal encounters including rhinoceros.

Whether you and your family walk the park or take the train, a must stop section is to feed the giraffes. They loved the carrots and were very social. My teen and tween loved feeding and petting them.

You’ll find different events at this wildlife park daily including a wildlife show at 11 a.m. 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Swine Time Pig Races also happen daily at 10 a.m. 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Safari Train runs daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the train leaving every ½ hour from the train depot. Tickets for the train are an additional charge.
