Hanover is a town located in southeast Indiana along the Ohio River. Hanover has a relatively small population of a few thousand but it is the home of Hanover College and Fremont Falls.

Hanover College is a small Presbyterian liberal arts college while Fremont Falls is the tallest waterfall in Indiana. Hanover is known for more than just its college and waterfall. It has also served as a home to some of the most famous people in the world. Here are the three most famous people who used to live in Hanover, Indiana.

Former Vice President Mike Pence

Mike Pence actually graduated from Hanover College with a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1981. While Pence was at Hanover, he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Pence decided to stay on at Hanover even after graduating from the college. He served as the admissions counselor at Hanover College from 1981 to 1983.

While at Hanover, Pence reportedly made his fraternity brothers angry when he told a college administrator where they were hiding kegs in the house. Hanover College had a no-alcohol policy. Pence was known to be a friendly guy at Hanover and was elected president of the fraternity during his sophomore year in college.

Actor Woody Harrelson

Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson also lived in Hanover at one time. Harrelson is most famous for his role as the bartender in the 80s NBC sitcom, Cheers. However, he has also acted in some major Hollywood movies including The Hunger Games series, Natural Born Killers, etc. Harrelson has acted in more than 75 Hollywood movies.

Harrelson also attended Hanover College. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and received degrees in theater and English. Harrelson and Mike Pence actually crossed paths when they were at college. This is what Harrelson said about Pence,

I knew (Pence), yeah. We were both very religious. It was a Presbyterian college at the time, and I was there on a Presbyterian scholarship, and he was involved with the church activities. I was actually considering being a minister and then I just kind of went a different way.... I actually quite liked him. I thought he was a pretty good guy. He's, you know, very religious.
