ATLANTA, GA — The pandemic is still ongoing, but it doesn’t stop people from being creative. This year, the Atlanta Music Project will offer Youth Choirs or virtual sessions for the Spring 2021 semester.

The Atlanta Music Project (AMP) will continue to reach students through this online music program while schools are closed.

The AMP Virtual Sessions are designed to develop the skills of AMP’s young musicians as they tell their own stories through music.

A vocal training course for 11 weeks will be available for intermediate and advanced middle and high school vocalists starting the week of January 1.

Designed for music students who are already proficient singers, admittance to the AMP Youth Choirs is only granted through a competitive virtual audition process.

Rehearsals will be conducted for one hour once per week. The registration fee per semester is $25.

Students will be assigned to one of the following rehearsal sessions:

Thursday

Session 1: 5:00 pm – 6:00pm

Session 2: 6:15pm – 7:15pm

All students must submit a virtual audition video as one of the requirements. In the video, they must begin by mentioning their full name and the reasons to join the AMP Youth Choir. Bear in mind that the video must not be cut or edited. The duration of the video must be under 10 minutes.

For audition repertoire, they must perform the traditional tune “Happy Birthday” and one solo piece.

This Spring program is divided into two:

1. AMP Junior Youth Choir:

Age: Grades 6 through 8

Level: Intermediate

2. AMP Senior Youth Choir:

Age: Grades 9 through 12

Level: Advanced
