Narrowing down just a couple of spots to eat in Las Vegas is tough since the town’s restaurant scene now rivals any spot in the world. Though they may have some of the popular chains that you will see in your hometown, they have more than enough spots for you to branch out and try something new. Picking my favorites was not easy. Whether you like steak or sushi, you will be overwhelmed with the number of options. For those who have a trip to Sin City on their calendar in the near future, check out what to eat when you visit Las Vegas.

If you are looking for a fine dining experience and want to check out the offerings of a celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay Steak is worth a visit. We've all heard good and bad things about Gordon Ramsay but we never hear anything bad about his cooking. To this day, he's still one of the best chefs ever but more so because of his personality so I had to pay this place a visit. His classic beef wellington features a flaky crust filled with perfectly cooked beef and mushrooms. As a starter, I recommend ordering the foie gras. It has such a unique flavor and wonderfully smooth texture. They also serve an excellent roasted bone marrow. For dessert, whether you saved room or not, I insist that you order the sticky toffee pudding. This moist confection is topped with his famous brown butter ice cream and drizzled with brown sugar toffee.

What I recommend: Beef Wellington

Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen

Located at Linq, Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen is another celebrity chef offering that is worth a visit. A high-energy chef, of course, has taken the usual foods we loved and escorted them directly to Flavor Town. Don’t let them name fool you; your whole group will love the trash can nachos topped with the house smoked pulled pork. For a main dish, you can’t go wrong with one of Guy’s famous burgers. Try the bacon mac ‘n’ cheeseburger which features six different types of cheese with crispy onion straws and bacon. Yes, SIX! It sounds a bit dangerous but it is equally delicious! For dessert, they have a seven-layer dark chocolate whiskey cake. It has such a kick that you will be asked to show ID. Yes, really!

Sakana

Located off the strip, Sakana has done the impossible: They have combined amazing sushi with the all-you-can-eat option of a buffet. They have both lunch and dinner options that allow you to fill up on all the sushi you could want at an affordable price. I am a fan of their salmon, so I opt for their spicy salmon hand roll. For those who may not be in it for the seafood, they offer skewered yakitori and kurobota sausage. If after eating all the sushi you can manage you still have room for dessert, cool down with a serving of their red bean ice cream.

What I recommend: Their nigiri is the best!

Location: 3949 S Maryland Pkwy Las Vegas, NV 89119

Whether you want to take a walk to a nearby spot on the strip, or you plan to avoid the crowds and high prices by venturing off the beaten path, you will not be disappointed with any of the above spots. If it is a fancy night out or a burger with friends you are looking for, you will find it all in Vegas.
