Lunch is served from 11am daily and it's not something to skip out on at Blu Jam. If you've been here for breakfast, you know how good the food is.

This spot is located on Melrose, the perfect shopping area therefore you're bound to get hungry and be in need of a good salad or sandwich to hold you over till dinner time.

If you're in the mood for a coffee, they have a great dirty chai that you can get iced or hot. It's super good iced and I ask them to make it with vanilla.

In terms of sandwiches, here's what they have and what's good:

Grilled cheese sandwich: (good but simple, add bacon or jalapenos to spice it up) it's made with melted mozzarella, cheddar, goat cheese, tomatoes all on rustic Italian bread and mixed greens. The goat cheese really makes this sandwich taste phenomenal.

The BLTA Sandwich is a classic: Butter lettuce, tomato, smashed avocado with crispy smoked bacon, and chipotle aioli on rustic Italian bread and mixed greens. The chipotle aioli is so good.

Favorite: El Paso Chicken Sandwich made with braised pulled chicken, butter lettuce, jalapenos, melted mozzarella, tomatoes, smashed avocado, cilantro, onions, chipotle aioli, mixed greens all on rustic Italian bread.

If you're vegan, they have a vegan wrap made with soy chorizo, black beans, red radishes, cilantro, pico de gallo, butter lettuce, vegan chipotle aioli, and smashed avocado rolled up in a large whole wheat tortilla served with mixed greens.

If you want a lighter lunch, opt for a salad. They have a great Cobb Salad with butter lettuce, chopped grilled chicken, smoked bacon, tomatoes, avocado, gorgonzola and house-made ranch.

The Warm Mushroom salad is good and unique too, it has mixed greens, sauteed mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, and balsamic vinaigrette. You can also add grilled chicken or grilled tofu for protein.

They also offer a spinach and strawberry salad, not my favorite but if you enjoy fruit in your salad you will like this. It has spinach, fresh strawberries, and dried cranberries, roasted pumpkin seeds, goat cheese, fresh mint, and balsamic.

Stop by for lunch pre or post-shopping and you won't regret it.
