On Wednesday, a two-vehicle collision claimed life of a 38-year-old motorcyclist on Edison Highway and 23-year-old Isabel Morelos Lopez was involved in the fatal crash.
The incident took place before 5 a.m. east of Sterling Road. According to officials, Lopez was driving the Ford SUV when the driver pulled onto the highway directly in the way of the motorcycle following which the two vehicles collided with each other.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. On arrival, first responders rushed him to Kern Medical where he later succumbed to his injuries. The authorities said that the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of crash. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time.
An investigation is continuing.
