Deep Sea Sugar & Salt is without a doubt the best cake I've ever had.

Charlie Dunmire started Deep Sea Sugar and Salt by selling slices of her insanely scrumptious cake out of a trailer, at the Georgetown Trailer Park. For those of you not familiar; the Georgetown Trailer Park is tiny flea market, open on the weekends. She has since opened up the cutest little cake shop down in Georgetown. To say there is always a line out the door on the weekends, is the absolute truth.

Let's start with how ridiculously decadent these cakes are. She soaks the cakes, in a variety of wonderful ingredients so it is super dense and moist as it can be. For example, her 9lb Porter Chocolate cake is soaked in the porter (a dark beer) made at the local brewery called 9 Lb. It is unreal!

She sells full cakes of course, but you can also always grab slices and cupcakes. The cakes she creates are actual art. For special orders, she covers the cakes in fresh flowers.

The slices are so big, they are shareable. My favorites are London Fog and Chocolate Salted Caramel. If you're curious about the Salted Caramel cake, please see my photos. It's unmistakable.

I hope this encourages you to go try a slice! The first time I tasted her cakes, I feel like I nearly died from happiness. If Charlie ever moves her cake shop, I'm following close behind. But not in a stalker way, just in a "I need this cake to be a part of my life at all times" way. Deep Sea or bust.
