It’s official: Las Vegas is, indeed, a destination for some of the world’s best restaurants. With offerings from celebrity chefs that range from fast casual to fine dining, they have established themselves as a food lover’s dream. Some people even take a trip to Las Vegas just to eat their way down the famous Strip (guilty!). On your next trip to Sin City, make sure to take some time away from the card tables and plop yourself down at the dinner table. If you do not know where to start, then read on to learn what to eat when you visit Las Vegas.

The French really got it right when it comes to cuisines. Their rich foods and fancy delicacies may not be something you would eat every day, but they are easily something you must try. Located at the casino Paris, Mon Ami Gabi has all of the French foods that are not commonly found on most American menus. You must try their escargot in their garlic herb butter. For something less exotic, I prefer one of their light crepes stuffed with chicken and mushrooms. If you want something raw but not exotic, I would suggest their delicious oysters because it's very fresh. I sometimes wonder how they're able to get some fresh oysters here. But honestly, you can not go wrong with just a simple steak here, medium rare, the only way to eat steak. Their steak is cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with the right amount of sauce. They also have an amazing wine list, so if you are not sure what pairs with snails, ask the server to help.

What I recommend: Filet mignon is a must and escargot if you can handle it

Hash House A Go Go

If you are visiting Hash House A Go Go, I hope you have brought a ferocious appetite. Prepare to be overwhelmed by pancakes so large that they literally spill over the side of your plate. What I love about Hash House is they give the most generous helping of any food you order on their menu. You want some eggs and ham, it'll be the biggest plate you'll ever see. You want some pancakes? One pancake will feed two people. When I come with my family, we only get two to three dishes because we know they're huge and we still have a lot left over. Hash House has three locations in Las Vegas, and two of them are right on the strip. If you wake up early enough for breakfast, I recommend their sage fried chicken and waffles. Just be prepared to share them with a friend.

What I recommend: Pancakes and breakfast platters

Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen

You don’t have to be a fan of great food to want to pay a visit to Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen. It helps just to be a fan of reality TV shows. When it comes to Gordon Ramsay restaurants, it is true that every item on the menu is a winner. However, if you are a fan of the famous chef, then you are in it for the beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding. Those are his two signature dishes, and there is a reason these two items were enough to put him on the world’s map. And if you also happen to be a fan of the show, you may want to order the risotto just to make sure the kitchen gets it right.

What I recommend: Beef Wellington

Location: 3570 Las Vegas Blvd S Las Vegas, NV 89109

At this point, Las Vegas can officially be a destination for people who have absolutely no interest in gambling. There is so much to do from shopping to riding roller coasters. Vegas fans like myself enjoy a nice stroll down the strip to watch the volcano at Mirage or the fountains at Bellagio. These long strolls down Las Vegas Boulevard serve as more than just sightseeing; they are a great way to build up an appetite.
