Arrest made in connection with shootings in Surprise and Peoria

(SURPRISE, Ariz.) One person was detained in connection with a shooting in Surprise, and police said they may be a suspect in other shootings throughout the West Valley, ABC 15 reported.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety, Peoria Police Department and Surprise Police Department were all investigating reported shootings on Thursday.

Two people were shot in Surprise near 115th Avenue and Bell Road. One had life-threatening injuries and one had non-life-threatening injuries.

Surprise police said the department was investigating around 12:30 p.m.

A vehicle was shot near Loop 303 and El Mirage Road. Arizona DPS was investigating that shooting.

The Peoria shooting happened near 99th and Northern avenues. A woman was shot and had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shootings may be linking, but all were under investigation.

Surprise police said around 1:15 p.m. that officers made a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle and detained one person.

Information on the detained person's identity was not immediately available.
