(LINCOLN, Neb.) Nebraska State offices will be closed on Friday, June 18, after the establishment of Juneteenth as a federal holiday, 10/11Now reported.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has ordered the holiday closure to comply with state laws that grant paid holiday benefits to state employees.

Reports said exceptions to the paid day of leave may include law enforcement, security, military and state employees engaged in essential functions.

According to a press release from the governor's office, all state workers will receive instruction from their agency director or personnel representative.
