As Washington DC recovers, reopens, there are now choices for making decisions for dinner or going out for a bite. As you also might know, there are a handful of Indian restaurants, and the very best restaurants come from the Knightsbridge Restaurant Group, which is behind Bombay Club, Rasika, Annabelle, Oval Room, and more.

So now, just walking distance from the White House and the Foggy Bottom neighborhood, there is a new revitalized restaurant strip, and at the corner of this development is Bindaas.

What is Bindaas?

Bindaas is an Indian restaurant with a flair and a nod to street food. Bindaas is Indian slang, meaning independent, cool and carefree. Bindaas offers an assortment of savory snacks, kebabs, with vegetarian options as well as pork, fish, chicken and beef street food dishes that are easy on the wallet.

On the menu are some fun items, all packed with flavor and up to the standards of the hospitality group. The restaurant is colorful, comfortable, and has a lot of fun decor that feels like a more lived-in space and comfortable space, rather than a very formal space.

Menu Recommendations

On the menu is Masala Popcorn made with curry leaf, coriander, and cumin. Cauliflower Pakora with pickled onion chutney. The Punjabi Samosa is made with green pea and potato. You cannot go wrong with Chicken Tikka Masala with tomato and bell pepper. Chili Salmon cinnamon with moilee sauce and green chili. Lamb Goli Kebab are spiced lamb meatballs with saffron and Kashmiri chili. End your meal with Kulfi rose sabayon made with saffron and unique sweet noodles. As with most Indian dishes, it is very vegetarian and vegan friendly, and it’s very filling. Get the Cauliflower dish!

Fun cocktails in mocktails are also part of the menu and their hospitality group wine, which is a bright and well-made wine, and pairs well with the flavor for dishes.
