(THE BRONX, N.Y.) On a night where New York City saw 10 reported shootings across the five boroughs, a woman was fatally shot and her brother was critically injured in a double shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday, according to ABC 7 NY.

The New York City Police Department said the shooting took place at around 11:24 p.m. near the intersection of East 194th Street and Marion Avenue in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx.

Police from the 52nd Precinct responded to a 911 call and located 29-year-old Katherine Diop, an East 194th Street resident, with a gunshot wound to her torso, and her 31-year-old brother with multiple bullet wounds to the body.

According to police sources, Diop's brother was involved in an argument with another man over an unknown matter, per AM New York. After the dispute came to an end, the individual took out a gun and shot Diop and her brother, police said.

Emergency medical services transported the siblings to St. Barnabas Hospital where the young woman was pronounced dead. Her brother continues to be hospitalized in stable condition, according to AMNY.

Police have made no arrests. Detectives are in search of the top suspect, who was described as a man sporting braids and a white shirt.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
