ATLANTA, GA — On June 15, 2021 the City of Atlanta Police Department posted on Facebook regarding the case of narcotic activity at 2608 Godfrey Drive.
This case started in late May 2021. Atlanta Police investigators was observing activity at 2608 Godfrey Drive and they indicated the probability of narcotics being sold from the house. Investigator was already familiar with the building due to an investigation in 2019, which led to the discovery of multiple firearms and a significant amount of narcotics inside the same residence.
The investigators were able to discover a number of anonymous complaints that have been made this year about illegal narcotics sales at the location. After deciding to hold surveillance and try buying narcotics from that home, they confirmed narcotics were indeed being sold there.
Investigators started to execute a search warrant at the home in question on June 10 and they found seven firearms, with one of them modified for fully automatic operation, as well as two 50 round drum magazines. They also found almost 19 pounds of marijuana, 11 oxycodone pills, 27 pints of promethazine and money amounting to more than $ 41,000 in cash.
At that time, a UPS truck arrived to deliver a number of packages, one of which contained 3.4 pounds of marijuana. The three suspects, Willie Williams (27), Carinthuit Henry (21) and Courtney Benjamin (17), were at the location when investigators conducted and issued a search warrant. All three were detained without incident.
In the post, the City of Atlanta Police Department stated that they were pleased with the work the investigators put into this case as no one wants armed individuals selling drugs next door to their home. Police Department also hopes with the arrest of the perpetrator of this narcotic activity, it will improve the quality of life for those living nearby.
